"That’s where I live every day, in this “middle ground between light and shadow,” where all these surprising synchronicities and glimpses of grace are defining my new dimension of normal and a new kind of relationship with my Mr. E".

Your final paragraph is such a perfect description of life post loss.

I am so sorry you have lost Elliot.

I agree. By the way I loved the Twilight Zone reference, my favorite TV series of all time. So many timeless truths were found it that “middle ground between light and shadow”.

Me, too. I have been obsessed with the Twilight Zone for most of my life -- just feels like the perfect metaphor for the unfathomable. Thank you for reading and for your kind words.

REAL. Powerful, meaningful, beautiful, and YES, a tribute to Elliot and YOU - to your forever connection and it’s manifestation. I can’t imagine how you bear the earthly loss of your oldest son. And I am thankful for your profound sharing of your connection and all the insight, grace, and, in fact, rich transcendence beyond our world. I shall carry your sensitive, transformative change that YOUR WORDS and EXPERIENCE evoke in me. REAL.

These messages that our children send back to us are strangely comforting aren’t they, especially when we feel they’re sent with impish humour! They seem to be telling us they’re okay…they have a lightness of being that they want us to be part of, even as we navigate the heaviness of our grief that they’re no longer physically with us. I always enjoy your writing Elaine, thank you.

Esther, I love how you articulated the power of these unexpected moments. The lightness and whimsy of them. I think you are correct -- they are telling us they are okay and also that they are with us but in a different way. 💕

Beautiful and mysterious, and I learned something. Elliot is still sending you messages as you're ready to receive them.

Much love,

Tom
